Dr. Raul Cuero Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Scientific Research for Invention

    CYPRESS, TX, January 29, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Raul Cuero has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by more than 50 years of professional experience, molecular microbiologist, inventor and scientist Dr. Cuero says "My inventions are the best rewards of my creativity, which brings me harmony, sense of belonging, and self-reliance." He holds a PhD in Microbiology (on a research scholarship) from Strathclyde University, UK, a MSc in Plant Pathology from Ohio State University, USA, a BSc from Heidelberg University, USA, (from which he received the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2010) and a Biology degree from Universidad del Valle, Colombia. He is a former Distinguished Professor, Research Scientist and Awarded Inventor of Texas A&M University System on the Prairie View, Texas campus.

Currently, he is Chief Scientific Advisor of BioCapital Holdings, LLC, in Houston, TX, USA and founder/scientist/mentor of the International Park of Creativity, whose main aim is invention/discovery (www.ipoc.co). Dr. Cuero is a former research associate in bio control mycotoxins for the USDA. He has 21 scientific inventions, 13 patents granted in the USA and 8 pending patents and publications in different scientific and technological fields including biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic and integrated biology, environmental and energy biotechnology, microbiology and astrobiology. He is also an international consultant on biotechnology and on creative processes for building capacity. Dr. Cuero has received numerous scientific recognitions such as the Hispanic Scientist of the Year 2013, USA, and he has received several honorary doctor degrees from Colombia South America. He also received the NASA Brief Technology award for one of his inventions related to "Use of Rigolith or simulant martial soil for controlling metals or radionuclide" in collaboration with the late Dr. David McKay, former NASA scientist. Dr. Cuero has written books on creativity, his autobiography, and on the effect of loneliness as a source of creativity and production. Currently, he is writing a book on the understanding of the dilemma of absence of life despair of presence of water, especially under extraterrestrial conditions. He was a member of the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC) at Texas A&M University on the campus of Prairie View from 1988 to 2014. He also contributed as a member of the Review Panel on Environment for the EPA in 1995 and the Review Panel to the USDA on Small Business. Dr. Cuero was a keynote speaker on entrepreneurship using science and technology at Heidelberg University in 2017, on "How to Create by Doing it for Competition and Prosperity in a Technological Era" for the Asociación de Industriales de Puerto Rico in San Juan in 2016, on "Creativity: The Only Alternative to Compete and Achieve Sustainable Wealth. Latin Synergy" at a conference of leaders of impact in Cancun, Mexico in 2016, on "Turning the page: Transforming the African, American and Latino Male Experiences in Higher Education for Black, Brown & College Bound in 2015, to name but a few. He is the co-author of the environmentally-relevent publication "DNA-based glucose sensor and photonicity," and "Construct of DNA glucose sensor yeast plasmid for early detection of diabetes" for the Journal of Integrative Obesity Diabetes Volume 3(5):9-9. H also contributed book chapters to Biocontrol of Plant Diseases: Volume II, and Chitin and Chitinases. Non-scientific writings include "How to Create to Excel: The Joy of Life" (2016), "Loneliness as a Source of Creativity: In the Modern Technological Era (2015) and Between Triumph and Survival (2004).

Dr. Cuero is currently writing a book about how to induce children (2-6 years old) to be creative and appreciate the culture of creativity. This book is based on drawings and experiencing nature so children are able to establish differences between similarities towards creativity by implementation and discovering. During the early part of Dr. Cuero's life, he tried different paths including physical, as an outstanding athlete for sports, intellectual and spiritual paths, to achieve triumph, but he was only satisfied after he became an inventor.
