Mr. Perilstein's brilliance has served countless satisfied customers for nearly 50 years

Unique, honest and goal-oriented in nature, Fred M. Perilstein has harbored a lifelong love for electrical engineering.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ, January 30, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fred M. Perilstein has participated in The Star Treatment, a prestigious video series hosted by renowned lawyer and television personality, Star Jones. This premier video series is extremely limited — Marquis Who's Who qualifies 500 listees on an annual basis for this elite service. Backed by a storied career in media that spans more than two decades, Star works closely with Marquis listees to assist with networking goals and commemorative efforts that can be shared with a worldwide audience.

Unique, honest and goal-oriented in nature, Mr. Perilstein has harbored a lifelong love for electrical engineering. Upon witnessing the amazing electrification of the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia the age of 5, he was immediately drawn to the wonder of the field, which he fostered throughout the remainder of his youth. "I've had some experience with model trains as well as with the wiring of my parents' house," Mr. Perilstein tells Star.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in economics at the City College of New York, the founding institution of the City University of New York, Mr. Perilstein honorably contributed to his country as a specialist 5 surveyor in the United States Army Reserve from 1968 to 1974. Initially making his mark as an applications engineer with the Federal Pacific Electric Company from 1972 to 1978, he accrued a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Newark College of Engineering and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology during this time. With a substantial academic foundation for his future endeavors, Mr. Perilstein decided to work for himself, independently operating as a consultant in his field between 1978 and 1982.

Renowned as a confident designer who specializes in the complete installation of electrical equipment, Mr. Perilstein defines himself as "an expert in the specification of equipment." Working with myriad different systems and structures throughout his career, he prides himself on the success of his projects, having always met the specifications of his clients. "What could be suitable for one project is not suitable for another project," Mr. Perilstein shares, adding, "All of my hard work and my designs come to fruition when the power is turned on."

After an impressive 15-year tenure (1982-1997) with Tramlec Corporation, Consulting Engineers, in Springfield, Mr. Perilstein brought his visionary mindset and instincts for engineering to Envar Services, Inc. as a consultant in 1997, a role in which he continues to thrive. A proud and versatile member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, he has provided his wealth of knowledge to his peers through articles in such acclaimed industry journals as IEEE Transactions, Consulting-Specifying Engineer and the EC&M magazine. Notably, Mr. Perilstein was presented with a scholarship from the New York State Education Department Board of Regents in 1963 as well as the Third Prize Trophy at the World Wide Inventor Expo in 1982.

Mentored by Michael J. Shepnew, the former switchgear engineering manager at Federal Pacific Electric Company, and his father, Paul P. Perilstein, Mr. Perilstein further attributes his smashing success to his mentors Michael A. Spalletta and Leonard Goldman in addition to the support of his wonderful family. Citing his patent for the polyphase variable frequency inverter in 1980 as the pinnacle of his storied career, he fondly recalled two specific projects among his most crucial professional highlights. "I was working on the PATH system, supervising the construction of a six-megawatt D.C. Power Traction Substation," says Mr. Perilstein, who additionally recollects "two overseas projects where I had to adapt the NEC (National Electrical Code) to meet the local conditions in order to utilize the electricity available at the site."

However, Mr. Perilstein's professional process is anchored by his genuine passion, declaring to Star, "I don't work for a living. I enjoy what I do!" For the next generation of electrical engineers, he stresses the importance of longevity, suggesting that they find a role they not only enjoy, but that they can do for the next 50 years. Nevertheless, he hopes to epitomize his legacy by his stellar reputation, imparting to Star that he will be remembered by "the work that satisfied the client, satisfied me, and will remain operational hundreds of years from now." In light of his exemplary foresight and multiple inimitable accomplishments, Mr. Perilstein is the perfect fit for The Star Treatment!
