Jean W. Woodman Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Jean W. Woodman was honored to receive a teaching award during her career, a request that had been submitted by some of her former students.

An accomplished teacher who dedicated more than 40 years to the classroom, Mrs. Woodman retired from a nearly 25-year tenure at the Saint Gregory the Great Academy in Hamilton, NJ, in 2017. Prior to her appointments at the Catholic school, she taught English as a second language and supplemental instruction at Lakewood Preparatory School in Howell, NJ. Moreover, Mrs. Woodman was active as a teacher and the chairman of the English department at Holy Family School in Lakewood, NJ, and Saint Peter School in Point Pleasant, NJ.

Since 1982, Mrs. Woodman has been serving as an educational consultant and the owner of J.W. Woodman Associates in Jackson. She also began working as the senior vice president of the Cynosure Consultant, Inc., in Jackson in 1987. In her spare time, she often authors poetry, of which a number have been published as a result. Since embarking on her career, Mrs. Woodman has become a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Catholic Educational Association.

Mrs. Woodman initially pursued an education at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1971. She subsequently graduated from Monmouth University with a Master of Arts in teaching, magna cum laude, in 1981. Moreover, Mrs. Woodman obtained her certification as a teacher in the state of New Jersey.

Mrs. Woodman was honored to receive a teaching award during her career, a request that had been submitted by some of her former students. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been included in over 15 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who of American Women. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Woodman hopes to continue enjoying her retirement while dedicating her attention to her loving husband, G. Roger Woodman, and her wonderful son, Kevin and his wife, Victoria.
