Terrence Lee Croft Celebrates Decades of Professional Excellence in the Field of Law

Terrence Lee Croft has excelled as the owner of Croft ADR in Atlanta since 2013. Likewise, he has worked as a mediator, an arbitrator and a resolution expert for JAMS since 2009.

With more than 55 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Croft has excelled as the owner of Croft ADR in Atlanta since 2013. Likewise, he has worked as a mediator, an arbitrator and a resolution expert for JAMS since 2009. He was additionally active as a partner at King & Croft LLP from 1994 to 2012. Prior to these appointments, Mr. Croft held the position of a shareholder with Griffin, Cochrane & Marshall PC from 1983 to 1993.

Previously, Mr. Croft served as a partner with Kutak, Rock & Huie from 1978 to 1983, having flourished as a partner with Huie, Sterne & Ide from 1973 to 1978. From 1969 to 1973, he garnered valuable expertise as an associate with Hansell, Post, Brandon & Dorsey. Mr. Croft began his career as an associate with Coburn, Croft & Kohn in St. Louis from 1965 to 1969.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Croft pursued an education at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1962. While there, he captained the fencing team. He concluded his studies at the University of Michigan Law School in 1965, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Croft was admitted to practice law in Missouri, Florida and by the State Bar of Georgia, for which he subsequently held the posts of the chair of the alternative dispute resolution section and a member of the board of governors.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Croft has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. From 1998 to 2003, he contributed to the Atlanta Bar Foundation in the role of the president. Mr. Croft found success with his written works as well, having authored such works as "Mediation Tips for Rising and Other Stars," "ADR: An Option for Civil Cases Impacted by Budget Cuts," "ADR in Atlanta," "So You Want to Be a Mediator" and "Selecting and Preparing Your Mediator."

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Croft remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. From 1993 to 1999, he maintained his involvement with the American Bar Association as a member of the house of delegates. He has also been associated with the Atlanta Bar Association in a number of capacities since 1982, including as the president, the secretary, a treasurer, a member of the board of directors, the chairman of the litigation section and the president of the dispute resolution lawyers section. Mr. Croft was a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Atlanta International Arbitration Society, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Old War Horse Lawyers Club.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Croft has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. A fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals, he was recognized as the Atlanta Arbitration Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in America in 2018, the Best Individual Mediator and Arbitrator by the Daily Report in 2019 and a Distinguished Fellow by the International Academy of Mediators. Also celebrated by Super Lawyers, he was notably presented with multiple honors from the Atlanta Bar Association, including the Charles Watkins Award in 1996 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2007. Likewise, Mr. Croft was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
