Previously, Dr. Abd-Elsayed gained valuable expertise as a visiting assistant professor with the University, an associate and assistant lecturer with Assiut University, and as a fellow and resident in pain medicine and anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati and the Cleveland Clinic.
Certified through the American Board of Anesthesiology and licensed to practice medicine in the states of Wisconsin and Ohio, as well as the country of Egypt, Dr. Abd-Elsayed earned a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery and a Master of Public Health from Assiut University, which he received in 2000 and 2006, respectively. He retains his professional alignment with the International Neuromodulation Society, the North American Neuromodulation Society, the International Association of Health Care Professionals, the Dane County Medical Society, the Madison Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and many more. Dedicated to his community, Dr. Abd-Elsayed contributes through the Wisconsin Society of Anesthesiology (WSA), the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Abd-Elsayed has served as a reviewer for several pertinent journals. To wit, he has contributed to the British Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences, the European Journal of Neurology, the Saudi Medical Journal and many more. In addition, Dr. Abd-Elsayed has authored such articles as "Exploration of Gender-Specific Authorship Disparities in the Pain Medicine Literature," "Treatment of Discogenic Low Back Pain: Current Treatment Strategies and Future Options – A Literature Review" and "Periprocedural Considerations for Patients with Gastric Electrical Stimulators."
In recognition for his outstanding work in the field, Dr. Abd-Elsayed has been honored on a plethora of occasions, earning a first place award through the Cleveland Clinic's Anesthesiology Institute, a first place award through the IARS, various awards through the OSA, including the First Place Research Award and the First Case Report Award, the Patient Experience Award through the Pain Clinic at UW and the first place award through the WSA. Additionally, America's Best Physicians, America's Best Doctors, and the Leading Physicians of the World have consistently recognized him.
