Dr. Archibeque is a renowned music educator and conductor who has amassed more than 60 years of experience in her fields. At the inception of her career in 1957, she served as a teacher in the San Diego Unified School District for 12 years before joining San Jose State University as the Director of Choral Activities and Director of the Award Winning SJSU Choraliers, a position she maintained until her retirement in 2005. Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Archibeque has been a consultant and clinician in Europe, Canada, Australia and China and guest lecturer in various American Universities. She has conducted festival and all-state choirs in 46 states and in Canada.

Alongside her primary career responsibilities, Dr. Archibeque served the San Jose Symphony as the director of their chorus from 1970 to 2000 and on the board of directors from 1993 until 2001. Likewise she is a past president for the Silicon Valley League of the San Francisco Symphony where she was named Volunteer of the Year. She continues to serve as a board member and the chairperson of the development committee for the American Beethoven Society.

A contributor of articles to professional journals, Dr. Archibeque pursued a formal education prior to commencing her career. Earning a Bachelor of Music Education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1957, she subsequently received a Master of Arts at San Diego State University in 1965. Dr. Archibeque concluded her academic efforts in 1969, having graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Doctor of Musical Arts. Following this accomplishment, she has maintained her professional affiliation with myriad organizations in an effort to remain aware of developments in her industry. A past state president and national chair of the American Choral Directors Association, Dr. Archibeque was awarded an honorary membership to the National Choral Collegiate Organization.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Archibeque has been honored with several accolades and recognitions over the years. Presented with the Howard Swan Award, she was also named a Woman of Achievement in the Arts by the San Jose Mercury News and Women's Fund, as well as an Outstanding Professor by San Jose State University. The recipient of a Pen Award, she was also recognized as a President's Scholar by San Jose State University and earned the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University of Colorado College of Music. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Archibeque was selected for inclusion in many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
