Having accrued nearly 40 years of inimitable expertise in the field of legal services, Mr. Rosenblatt established his firm, Howard M. Rosenblatt, PA in 1985. He previously worked as of counsel of Birr, Bryant, and Saier. Mr. Rosenblatt focuses much of his practice on estate planning, financial planning and probate.
Mr. Rosenblatt devoted more than 40 years of his career as a financial professional for The MONY Group in Gainesville. Before retiring from the organization in 2014, he performed sales and services of life, health, disability and long-term care insurance products, provided financial advice and sold and serviced annuities, mutual funds, stocks and bonds. Prior to entering law and financial services, Mr. Rosenblatt contributed for one academic year in the classroom as a teacher at Stanton Vocational High School in 1969 and 1970. In addition, Mr. Rosenblatt served as cantor of Congregation First Sons of Israel from 1971 to 1976 and cantor of Congregation B'nai Israel of Gainesville from 1983 to 2010.
In his civic endeavors, Mr. Rosenblatt has been active as a board member of the Alachua County Library Foundation since 2012. He has held numerous other roles throughout his career as well, finding success on the board of directors of the Alachua County division of the American Cancer Society, on the board of directors of Planned Parenthood of North Central Florida, president of Congregation B'nai Israel, and as the treasurer, vice president, campaign chairman and board of director of the Jewish Council of North Central Florida. In politics, Mr. Rosenblatt stood as a Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives in 1988 and again in 2000, and additionally distinguished himself as the chairman of the Alachua County U.S. Constitution Bicentennial Commission, 1985 to 1987. He also was active in the Gainesville Jaycees from 1972 to 1987, serving as Membership Vice-President and Legal Counsel. In 1983 he was the Florida Jaycees speaker of the year and the recipient of the Fred West Memorial Award.
Mr. Rosenblatt was educated at the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1969 and a law degree in 1981. He is an active member of The Florida Bar. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and Accredited Estate Planner. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Gainesville Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the North Central Florida Estate Planning Counsel, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and The American Bar Association. He is a past president of the Clara Gehan chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and past president of the Gainesville Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is currently local president of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and the Estate Planning Council of North Central Florida.
Mr. Rosenblatt in 2018 received the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Florida, Snead-Bryan Award (Advisor of the Year). In 2019, Mr. Rosenblatt was the recipient of The Florida Bar Pro Bono Award.
