A leader in her field, Ms. Simmons has notably presented "How to Introduce Different Types of Evidence: Introducing Facebook Posts and Texts" at the Equal Justice Conference in 2013 and "Orders of Protection" and "Violence in the Home," at the Tennessee Attorneys Memo Family Law Conference in 2019. Civically engaged as well, she flourished as a mock trial coach for Home Life Academy from 2014 to 2016, a guest lecturer for Lane College's Black Executive's Exchange Program from 2012 to 2014, a volunteer attorney at Madison County Teen Court and a board member for West Tennessee Legal Services and Keep My Hood Good. Additionally, Ms. Simmons sat as a special judge for the Jackson City Court and is an active member of the Jackson Service League.
As a further testament to her success and longevity in the field, Ms. Simmons was honored as the Attorney of the Year by the Top 100 Registry Business Leaders and Professionals in 2019. Recognized among America's Top 100 Criminal Defense Attorneys in 2018, the 10 Best Attorneys by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2017 and the 10 Best Female Attorneys by the aforementioned organization from 2016 to 2017. She was also presented with the Nationally-Ranked Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award for Excellence in the Field of Criminal Law from the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys in 2015 and 2016.
