Erica L. DeYoung Celebrated for Dedication to the Illinois Department of Transportation

Erica L. DeYoung was a distinguished recipient of the Contractor of the Year Awards in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2018 and a Roadside Development Beautification Award in 2009.

    CEDAR LAKE, IN, February 20, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Erica L. DeYoung has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Mrs. DeYoung has notably served as a civil engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation since 1991. She worked as a co-op student from 1991-1994. In 1995 she hired on permanently and worked her way up to be a resident engineer in 2003. In the course of fulfilling her responsibilities she focuses on managing construction projects and ensuring that the projects are built according to plans and specifications, that materials and quantities are documented properly, that the contractors are getting paid in a timely manner and that all staff are following safety procedures. Whilst working for the department, Mrs. DeYoung attained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

Mrs. DeYoung is certified in ICORS_ CMMS and documentation. She was a distinguished recipient of the Contractor of the Year Awards in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2018 and a Roadside Development Beautification Award in 2009. She severed as a nursery worker, usher, and greeter at Suncrest Christian Church from 2006-2015 and as a nursery worker and greeter at Faith Church from 2019-2020. She has been a sponsor of two girls for Compassion International since 2013. She frequently donates to causes that support veterans, cancer, Alzheimer's, food pantries, woman's shelters and charities supporting children such as Samaritan's Purse, Angel Tree, Feed the Children and Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. DeYoung credits her success to many of her teachers and her family for encouraging her to strive constantly for every accomplishment along her career path.
