Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Cormier pursued an education at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, from which she obtained a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and chemistry. She subsequently pursued an education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with a master's degree in advanced safety engineering management. In order to remain aware of developments in her career field, Ms. Cormier has avidly maintained her membership with the American Institute of Chemical Engineering.
In accounting for her success, Ms. Cormier credits her experience working with a myriad of different people and learning something new from each of them. She routinely works with high risk and low income children, and often helps local youth at her church apply for college. Having been surrounded by impoverished children whilst growing up, Ms. Cormier is keenly aware of the struggles faced by today's youth, and has resolved to help them mitigate their challenges however she can.
