Dr. Amanda Main has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Dr. Main has greatly prospered in her current work with Lynn University, the University of Central Florida and the Florida Institute of Technology



    BOYNTON BEACH, FL, February 27, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Amanda Main has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by considerable expertise in industrial and organizational psychology, Dr. Main excels as an associate professor of management and an academic program coordinator of social entrepreneurship for the College of Business Management at Lynn University, where she also serves as a fellow of the Institute for Achievement & Learning. Additionally, she works as an adjunct lecturer in the management and psychology departments at the University of Central Florida and as an adjunct lecturer at the Florida Institute of Technology. Consistently ranked at the top of her departments by her students, Dr. Main has presented teaching techniques and educational research on the local, national and international levels, and co-authored in such publications as the Journal of Excellence and College Teaching and "The Handbook of Research on Transdisciplinary Knowledge Generation."

Throughout her career, Dr. Main has maintained a research focus on harassment and mistreatment in the workplace. Her dissertation, "Not Woman Enough Harassment: An Integrated Model from Antecedent to Outcome," expanded the construct space for gender-based harassment to more fully capture the female experience in the workplace. She was also honored to conduct studies with NASA astronauts to improve their debriefing procedures. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Main is especially proud of developing and delivering curricula for more than 10 courses in the College of Business and Management at Lynn University, publishing and presenting her extensive research, creating an initiative to provide sustainability to the University of North Georgia through a native plant nature refuge, and developing and running a financial literacy program for women in a domestic violence shelter.

In pursuit of her career in the field, Dr. Main earned an Associate of Arts from Palm Beach State College, a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of North Georgia, and both a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Central Florida. She remains aware of changes in the field through her alignment with the Delta Epsilon Iota, Omicron Delta Kappa, Pi Gamma Mu, Psi Chi, Phi Sigma Phi and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies. Devoted to her community, Dr. Main also provides service through the Watson Institute, Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society, and the Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities, for which she formerly participated on the grant steering committee.

With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, Dr. Main has provided her research to academic publications and book chapters. She was additionally active in conference presentations and invited talks such as "Strategic Planning for Wellbeing and Engagement," which was presented at the 2019 Human Resources Florida Conference and Expo, and "Let's Get Creative! Infusing imagination and innovation into your curriculum," which was presented at the 3rd Annual Sunshine State Teaching and Learning Conference. Along with other industry scholars, Dr. Main has also penned such works as "Perceptions of service-learning in the sunshine state" and "Building a strategic advantage in faculty leadership through competency modeling."

In light of her outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Main received the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Business Research Conference and the Distinguished Young Alumnus of the University of North Georgia in 2018. Subsequently, she accepted the Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management, the Academic and Creative Excellence Award from Lynn University, a nomination for the Faculty Member of the Year Award from the Florida Institute of Technology and inclusion into Marquis Who's Who in 2019. Looking toward the future, Dr. Main intends to continue on the same path but have a larger scope of impact while adding to industry literature.
