GARLAND, TX, March 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George R. Hunt has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Having accrued more than 50 years of expertise in landscape design, community and resort planning, Mr. Hunt has garnered a reputation for his services as a landscape architect. He began his design firm George R. Hunt Associates in 1961 and had remained active until 2017. During this time he collaborated with other firms to prepare a master plan for Montego Bay, Jamaica and landscape plans for several Sandals and Breezes resorts. His firm also did landscape and community planning with developers and homeowners throughout the United States.
He served in the U.S. Navy and attended Cornell University, Ithaca New York, graduating in 1956 with a BS degree with a major in landscape architecture and planning. Mr. Hunt is the author of "Towards Self Sufficiency: A Community for a Transition Period", published in 2018. He is publishing a Revised Edition "Toward Self-Sufficiency from Chaos: Using Unique Sustainable Community Planning Concepts" to be published in March/April 2020. However, Mr. Hunt is particularly proud to have served as a principal planner on the Montego Bay Jamaica community master plan, which received a Good Practice Award from the United Nations. Additional experience was obtained by working as a planner for HUD in Fort Worth and the City of Dallas.
