DALLAS, TX, March 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Deanna Kuiper Noyes, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Noyes celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Noyes is a professor of natural sciences at the department of biology at Dallas Baptist University in Dallas. Teaching on campus since 1997, she was previously a member of the faculty of the University of North Texas, for which she was an adjunct professor of physics, and Texas Women's University as an adjunct professor of geology. Involved in education since 1987, Dr. Noyes also held academic appointments at William Carey College and the University of Southern Mississippi and was a chemistry and physics teacher at Jackson Preparatory School in Jackson, Mississippi.

One of Dr. Noyes' other commitments has included working on the Sachse Christian Academy school board in Sashse, Texas, since 2005. She is also a well-known speaker in her field who has contributed papers and presentations at various state and national conferences and symposia. Some of the topics Dr. Noyes has covered include Teaching Evolution in Elementary School, Becoming a Constructivist Teacher and Determining Factors that Influence Attitudes Toward Science.

Over the past decade, Dr. Noyes has participated in several educational ministry class research trips, beginning with a trip to Bangladesh in 2010. She returned in 2012 and soon visited Jamaica in 2015. Meanwhile, some of her community outreach efforts have included serving as a science content advisor for the Cook Natural Science Museum in Huntsville, Alabama, and as a member of the Christian Ecologist Speaker's Bureau for Earth Stewardship Outreach to Faith Communities and the Preservation Society for Spring Creek Forest in Richardson, Texas. Between 1998 and 2003, Dr. Noyes was a leader for Awana in Richardson, Texas, a world-wide, nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions for children and teenagers between the ages of two and 18. Within her community, she has been active at the Ecological Society of America national conference during 2011 and the Native Plant conference at Stephen F. Austin State University between 2008 and 2011 and was a band member at her local First Baptist Church in Sachse between 2003 and 2015.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Noyes is a talented jeweler and the owner of TreasuresOfNatureJewelry.com. Coming of age along the shores of Lake Michigan, she spent many summers exploring nature and developing a love for living things, as well as rocks and minerals. After meeting and marrying her husband, the two joined the Mississippi Gem and Mineral Society and learned the craft of making cabochons and wire-wrapping. Relocating to Texas, Dr. Noyes soon learned wire weaving through the Arlington Gem and Mineral Club. Today, she creates beautiful, wearable works of art, which can be found on her website.

Dr. Noyes attended Belhaven College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in biological science in 1983. She later acquired a Master of Science in preventative medicine at the University of Mississippi in 1987 and a Doctor of Philosophy in science education at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997. She is fluent in English, Spanish and American Sign Language. While in college, Dr. Noyes originally planned to attend medical school. But after working for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jacksonville, Mississippi, for several years, she realized that it would be very difficult for her to work with the ill and dying, so she switched majors so that she could teach instead.

Among her professional memberships, Dr. Noyes is active with numerous organizations pertinent to her scientific interests. To wit, she has been a member of the Texas Association of Science Teachers, the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, the National Association of Science Teachers, the Ecological Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Noyes was likewise inducted into the honorable societies of Beta Beta Beta, Phi Delta Kappa and Sigma Zeta.

While Dr. Noyes was teaching at Jackson Preparatory School, two of her students won the Presidential Honor Scholar Award. Traveling to Washington, D.C., with them to receive their award, it was an honor to witness her students achieve such greatness for their commitment to academics. Dr. Noyes has also been recognized for her achievements by being named a Distinguished Teacher by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars in 1994 and with inclusion in several professional publications.
