Ms. Bunn simultaneously worked for Bixby Hereford Company as a consultant between 1981 and 1989 and subsequently as a co-manager from 1989 until 1997. Additionally, she is the former president and chief executive officer of Ahearn Ltd. in Springfield, Virginia.
Outside of her full-time commitments as an entrepreneur, Ms. Bunn has been involved in her community, where she served in several leadership positions. In 1986, she initially affiliated as a delegate for the White House Conference on Small Business in Washington, a role she would hold again in 1995. The White House Conference on Small Business was notably a series of three conferences that occurred in 1980, 1986 and 1995. They were convened by presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton to foster better relationships with members of the business community and to develop innovative policy solutions to economic problems.
A native of Trinidad, Colorado, Ms. Bunn later attended the University of Wyoming, Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Virginia. She is a certified shorthand reporter and a registered professional reporter. Ms. Bunn notably speaks English and reads Mandarin, German and Spanish. Among her many career highlights, she had the opportunity to work for several U.S. presidents, as well as the Secretaries of Energy. She also was afforded the chance to associate with several Nobel laureates on a first-name basis.
Aligned as a member of several professional organizations, Ms. Bunn is active with the National Association of Female Executives, the Wyoming Shorthand Reporters Association, and, among others, the National Court Reporters Association. She is also a member and former first vice president, president, public relations chairman and choices chairman of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women.
