Thomas E. Simmons has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Mr. Simmons celebrates more than 60 years of professional excellence



    GULFPORT, MS, March 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas E. Simmons has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Supported by six decades of professional excellence, Mr. Simmons has excelled as an author, the manager of an engineering company, a port consultant for container handling equipment for thirty years, and the commercial captain of a sailing vessel. A licensed pilot for more than 65 years, he participated in air shows that involved flying aerobatics in open-cockpit bi-planes. Notably, Mr. Simmons served as an artillery officer in Korea.

Mr. Simmons completed coursework at the Marion Military Institute, the United States Naval Academy, the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, he authored the non-fiction books, Escape from Archangel, An American Merchant Seaman at War, The Man Called Brown Condor, (awarded a gold medal for biography) and Forgotten Heroes of World War II: 2nd Edition: Personal Accounts of Ordinary Soldiers Land, Sea and Air (awarded a gold medal for history).

As part of the Quinn saga novels, Mr. Simmons penned the following books: By Accident of Birth, The Last Quinn Standing and No Promise for Tomorrow.

A successful writer, Mr. Simmons has also contributed to numerous magazines and periodicals. His article, "Growing Up with Mr. Faulkner," was published in The Oxford American. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Simmons was notably invited by the president of Ethiopia to come to that African nation to speak there about his book, The Man Called Brown Condor.

A few honors he has received are: The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for flying over fifty years without a violation or accident; an Award of Merit from the Mississippi Historical Society, a Concurrent Resolution by the Mississippi Senate and House; an Award of Recognition by the Ethiopian Heritage Society of America; The National Maritime Council Certificate of Advisory Membership, and various awards for speaking engagements.
