Mr. Stepulis is renowned as a musician and a retired music educator with a career spanning more than five decades. He developed his interest in music as a child, during which time he was a patient at a Shriners Hospital and received music lessons from a volunteer. He initially pursued an education at Mansfield University, earning a Bachelor of Science in music education in 1955. Mr. Stepulis subsequently graduated with a Master of Science in music education from Ithaca College in 1962.

From 1957 to 1987, Mr. Stepulis began his career as a music educator for the Elmira City School District. A member of the American Federation of Musicians, he is a licensed school administrator in the state of New York. Since 1980, Mr. Stepulis has found success as the owner of The Big S Music, with which he specializes in the sale and trade of used musical instruments.

Mr. Stepulis is additionally active in the New York State Conference of Musicians, having served as a member of the executive board since 1960 and as vice president since 2002. Moreover, he served as the president of the Penn Del Mar D.C. Conference for 15 years from 1992 to 2006, an accomplishment he considers to be a career highlight. In his spare time, Mr. Stepulis enjoys playing tuba and string bass and restoring acoustic pianos.
