Ms. Chung is renowned as a television news anchor and a correspondent with a career spanning more than 30 years of excellence in network broadcast journalism. She initially pursued an education at University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1969. Ms. Chung subsequently began her career in journalism in 1969 as a writer and a reporter for Station WTTG-TV News in Washington.

Following this appointment, Ms. Chung flourished as a politics and general assignment correspondent for CBS News from 1971 to 1976 and a news anchor for Station KNXT-TV News, a Los Angeles CBS affiliate station, from 1976 to 1983. Additionally, she anchored a variety of programming for NBC News between 1983 and 1989, including "NBC Nightly News," "NBC News at Sunrise" and special politics and election coverage. Ms. Chung further found success as an anchor for "CBS News Saturday Night with Connie Chung" from 1989 to 1990 and the "CBS Evening News, Sunday Edition" from 1989 to 1993.

From 1990 to 1995, Ms. Chung served as the anchor of "CBS News Face to Face with Connie Chung" and "Eye to Eye with Connie Chung." She notably co-anchored the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather" from 1993 to 1995, departing to join ABC News as an anchor and correspondent from 1997 to 2002. Noted as the host of "Connie Chung Tonight" for CNN from 2002 to 2003, Ms. Chung excelled as the co-anchor of "Weekends with Maury & Connie," an MSNBC programming block, in 2006.

Ms. Chung has received numerous accolades for her exemplary contributions to broadcast journalism, including a George Foster Peabody Award, a 1999 Edward R. Murrow Award and three Emmy Awards. Holding five honorary doctoral degrees, she was a fellow of the Harvard University Center on Press, Politics & Public Policy in 1997.
