Mitchel Gray has photographed such celebrities as Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Barry Bonds, Sean Combs, Zendaya, and Robert Downey Jr.
NEW YORK, NY, March 12, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mitchel Gray with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Gray celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having accrued more than 40 years of inimitable expertise in the field of photography, video, and literature, Mr. Gray has garnered a laudable reputation as the owner of Mitchel Gray Photography and Sunstreak Productions since 1972. Renowned for his work, his portfolio includes over 100 magazine covers, countless advertising and editorial pages from around the world, and videos, ranging from sports and fitness to dance and fashion. He has photographed such celebrities as Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Barry Bonds, Sean Combs, Zendaya, and Robert Downey Jr., with his work viewed in some of the most popular magazines, including Men's Health, Muscle and Fitness, Sports Illustrated, Runners World, Esquire, GQ, and Vogue.
In recent years, Mr. Gray has focused on his major series, Bodies in Action, which illustrates the impressive bodies of professional athletes, professional dancers and Olympians, doing what they do best. This ongoing photographic series, which began in late 2014, employs a new and unique approach in that each image in which there appears to be two different people, there is actually only one - the same person shot in opposition to themselves. This singular style allows Mr. Gray to illustrate two sides of the same body in one frame seamlessly. The Bodies in Action series has been the subject of three New York gallery shows and has been shown in the National Art Museum of Art.
Mr. Gray is the author of two bestselling photography books. His 1981 book, "The Lingerie Book," was notably honored with a First Place Award from the New York Art Directors Club. Mr. Gray's second book, released 10 years later, is titled "Lingerie Fantasies."
Born in New Jersey, Mr. Gray later attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville from 1964 to1968. Following this first accomplishment, his work has been featured in gallery shows throughout New York, and been placed on display in galleries across Europe and Japan. Additionally, he has participated in several group shows. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Gray has been included in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the East.
