In 2016, Mr. Hendrix also established the Optical Systems Engineers Group.
Throughout the length of his career, Mr. Hendrix has successfully led numerous projects and teams as both a project manager and technical manager. He most recently served as an applications and product support engineer for Adimec in Boston and as a senior electro-optics engineer for Daylight Solutions in San Diego. Mr. Hendrix also held roles with several other organizations, including Apollo Lasers and Hughes Aircraft Company, consulted for such organizations as the Santa Barbara Research Center and the Hughes Missile Systems Group, briefly taught as an adjunct professor in the department of engineering management at the University of Kansas and has been aligned with Gooch & Housego, an optical products company.
Mr. Hendrix's extensive research has led to eight U.S. patents. He notes his first patent, a laser resonator with self-alignment that had no moving parts, as being the most significant. What's more, Mr. Hendrix has disseminated much of his research by authoring and co-authoring approximately 20 scholarly articles in various professional journals.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Mr. Hendrix received a Bachelor of Science in physics. He subsequently attended the University of Kansas, where he attained a Master of Science in engineering management. Recognized for his achievements, Mr. Hendrix received an R&D 100 Award from R&D Magazine, a Special Recognition Award from AlliedSignal KCP and an Outstanding Personal Achievement Award from Hughes Aircraft Company.
