Karen Lee Anderson Ricklefs has most recently garnered a laudable reputation as a senior quality assurance consultant and the co-founder of Quality Associates International.

Having accrued over 60 years of experience in the field of education, Ms. Ricklefs has most recently garnered a laudable reputation as a senior quality assurance consultant and the co-founder of Quality Associates International, in close collaboration with her husband, Merlin. Prior to establishing the company in 1991, she contributed more than 15 years within the public sphere as a school teacher of mathematics in Minnesota and New York. During this time, Ms. Ricklefs served as the director and founder of the College and Career Resource Center at Mayo High School in Rochester, and as an executive assistant at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. Additionally, she worked in real estate for several years as a realtor at K&K Realty in Rochester.

A visionary and leader behind numerous community and educational initiatives, Ms. Ricklefs is a past president and former board director of the Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester, past president and founder of the Rochester Area Intergovernmental Council and the Rochester Foundation of Education Excellence. She is also a former Minnesota representative for the National Energy Conference. Ms. Ricklefs served in several capacities for the Minnesota State Board of Education, the Minnesota Environmental Education Council and the Rochester Board of Education as well.

A member of several professional organizations, Mr. Ricklefs is currently a member of her local Rotary since 1997. She is also a past president of the American Association of University Women and a member of the American Society of Quality Control, the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra Women's Association, the Rochester Chamber of Commerce and the Sons of Norway. As an expert in her field, Ms. Ricklefs has provided her expertise as a consultant for the Minnesota Academy of Excellence Foundation in Saint Paul. She was also aligned with the Minnesota Partners for Quality in Saint Paul.

Ms. Ricklefs received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at Iowa State University in 1960. She later completed postgraduate coursework at Manhattanville College and Pace University in New York and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Recognized for her service to the community, she was honored with a Good Citizenship Award from the City of Rochester in 1974 and was named as an Outstanding School Board Member by the Rochester School Board in 1975. Among other accolades, Ms. Ricklefs was featured in the book, "Taking the Lead, Rochester Women in Public Policy, 1970-1990," which was authored by the League of Women Voters and published through the North Star Press of Saint Cloud Inc. in 2012.
