CINCINNATI, OH, March 25, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jane B. Hohn has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued forty years of experience in education, Ms. Hohn retired from her career as a second grade teacher from Sycamore Community Schools, where she taught for 28 years. Prior to Sycamore, she taught at Indian Hill Exempted Village School District for twelve years and Mariemont City Schools for two years. Ms. Hohn first determined she wanted to be a teacher in second grade when Mrs. Ferris, a soft-spoken wonderful teacher, planted the inspiration which would be the influence for her entire teaching career.

Ms. Hohn earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Wilmington College, majoring in Elementary Education and English with minors in History and Spanish. She worked at the Wilmington Public Library to assist with her college expenses. While teaching, she earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Hohn was very dedicated to teaching and to her students. Upon graduating, each of her students received a personal letter, recalling the areas in which each student excelled, some pictures of these students in second grade, and a poem or story they had written. She bears a great affection for her students and keeps in touch with those she taught in her classroom. She continues to be involved in children's education by tutoring at Huntington Learning Center two to three days a week.

Dedicated to her community, Ms. Hohn has volunteered in the city of Montgomery with the Beautification and Tree Commission for thirteen years and in September 2019, she received a Certificate of Appreciation and a brick in the city's Walk of Fame. Four years ago, she joined the Sycamore Community Singers, a community choir of 118 members. This choir gives back to the community by singing at nursing homes and churches and providing two concerts a year. In 2018, Ms. Hohn with 52 members of the choir toured through Germany and Austria singing at various churches. In October, 2019, Ms. Hohn received the Citizen of the Year Award given by the Rotary Club of Northeast Cincinnati for her dedication and commitment to teaching and to the community of Montgomery. In addition, she has served as a deacon at her church for four years. In the coming years, Ms. Hohn aims to continue to serve others and to help children with their learning.
