Michael Richmond Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Legal Education

Mr. Richmond has excelled as a law professor with Nova Southeastern University for many years



Michael Richmond was honored as Attorney of the Year (2012) by the Broward County Legal Aid Society.

    FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, March 25, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Richmond has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With many years of legal experience to his credit, Mr. Richmond currently excels as Professor of Law with the Shepard Broad College of Law, Nova Southeastern University. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in both law and librarianship as an attorney in general practice in Cleveland, as a member of the reference staff of the University of Texas (Austin) Law Library, and as a law professor with Capital University and North Carolina Central University. Additionally, Mr. Richmond completed military service as a member of the United States National Guard.

A devoted member of his community, Mr. Richmond has contributed to many public organizations as a member of the Boards of Directors of Ramat Shalom Synagogue and the Public Theater of Fort Lauderdale. He has also served as Chair of the Fort Lauderdale Airport Noise Abatement Committee. In pursuit of his dream career, he initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Hamilton College in 1967. Subsequently, Mr. Richmond obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University in 1971 and a Master of Science in Library Science from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) in 1974.

For his professional achievements, Mr. Richmond has been lauded on many occasions, having been honored as Attorney of the Year (2012) by the Broward County Legal Aid Society and the Coast to Coast Legal Aid Society. He accepted the "Mensch" award for his service to Ramat Shalom Synagogue and the "Stuey" award as Faculty Advisor of the Year from Nova Southeastern University (2007). He was recognized as Professor of the Year by the Shepard Broad College of Law in 2001.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Richmond intends to scale back his professional efforts but remain active with the American Bar Association Senior Lawyers Division and otherwise enjoy his retirement.
