Charmaine D.L. Davis has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

An inspiring leader and motivator, as well as a dynamic public speaker, Ms. Davis excels in her role as the Southeast Regional Administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Women's Bureau. Serving in her position since 2016, Ms. Davis commenced her career in 2010 as the Georgia state director of 9to5 The National Association of Working Women, in which she delivered an exceptional performance for six years. 9to5 The National Association of Working Women was notably established in 1973 as an advocacy group aiming towards improving working conditions and ensuring the rights of women and families throughout the United States. As the Georgia state director of 9to5 Ms. Davis led and won the Atlanta "Ban the Box" campaign to help end employment discrimination against the formerly incarcerated.

Before embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Davis attained a Bachelor of Science in political science and African and African American studies from The Ohio State University in 2005. Following this accomplishment, she attended North Park University in Chicago where she pursued a Master of Science in business and nonprofit management.

Whilst coming of age, Ms. Davis was raised to closely examine ways in which she could help others. As a young girl, she made it her mission to be aware of the different struggles and forms of oppression people endure throughout their lives, and into the present day she is dedicated to caring for members of her local community. From these life lessons, Ms. Davis spearheaded her own nonprofit organization, Project 61 Beauty for Ashes, which promotes the personal and professional development of women of all ages. Well-regarded in her area of expertise, Ms. Davis was the recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award from Georgia Trend in 2019. Garnering national attention and praise, her article on "Black Women's Fight for Motherhood" was featured on CNN and "Ain't I a Woman" in the Huffington Post in 2016. Looking toward the future, Ms. Davis aspires to see legislative policies be implemented which could help working-class people advance their socio-economic status and help them achieve financial security and stability. She also aims to dedicate time to helping women find their purpose in life, and achieve their goals.

Ms. Davis previously served as a board member for the following organizations; Pro Georgia, Family Values at Work, Jobs with Justice and Women for a New Direction. Each of these organizations is committed to increasing civic engagement among underrepresented populations, as well as advancing the economic security of all women and all people of color. Additionally, Ms. Davis is a financial coach for United Way and an outreach strategist for the AND Campaign, a faith-based civic engagement organization.
