Ms. Coluccio is renowned as an elementary and early childhood educator with more than 44 years of experience in curriculum development. Drawn to work with children from a young age, she believes that her work is God's stewardship of young people. She initially pursued an education at Brooklyn College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in education, cum laude, in 1974. Additionally, Ms. Coluccio holds teaching credentials in New York and New Jersey.

From 1974 to 1977, Ms. Coluccio began her career as an elementary-grades math and science coordinator at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Brooklyn. She later worked as a public relations coordinator for the McDonald's Corporation from 1977 to 1978 before returning to the classroom in 1979 as a daycare group teacher for the Congress of Italian American Organizations and Resurrection Elementary School. From 1983 to 1990, she was active as the owner and the operator for the Little Yellow House. Since 1990, Ms. Coluccio has excelled as the owner and the operator of Little Explorers: An Ed-U-Care Program, in Toms River, New Jersey.

Ms. Coluccio is the author of a poetry collection, "Soldier's Prayer" in 2003, and several musical tributes, including a musical adaptation of "The Pledge of Allegiance." A contributor to the Artistic Newsletter of New Jersey, she is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators and the National Association for Education of Young Children. As a humanitarian Ms. Coluccio was extensively involved in local and international charities such as Catholic Charities and Heifer International. Ms. Coluccio has received numerous awards for her work and advocacy, including a 2007 Catholic Charities Award for Community Partnership and Letters of Commendation from the United States Army and Navy.
