A compassionate and educated immigration lawyer who has been licensed now for more than three years, Mr. Niang currently represents clients as a member of the J&K Law Firm in New York. Established more than 15 years ago, the firm has built a significant reputation for excellence in its respected field. Prior to his tenure J&K, Mr. Niang further flourished for several years in the legal field as well as a case manager for the New York State Unified Court System.
Working tirelessly for his clients, Mr. Niang goes above and beyond to reunite families that have been separated, including spouses via waivers and motions, and assist with the navigation of naturalization applications. Well-versed in planning visa strategies, he has also found great success in obtaining such visas, as well as permanent resident/Green Cards and U.S. citizenship. He often handles matters and accompanies clients at removal proceeding hearings and attends United States Citizenship and Immigration Services interviews. Meanwhile, Mr. Niang has appealed multiple criminal convictions from pleas where clients were not previously advised of immigration consequences.

Some of Mr. Niang's scholarly interests have included the political cultures in West Africa, social history and contemporary domestic and foreign politics. Currently working on a project that examines immigrant advancement, he has also been published on immigration, arbitration and conflict resolution, including "Arbitration of International Conflicts." Active with the Jersey City Muslim community, Mr. Niang is also a proud member of the Senegalese Association in the United States of America, a non-profit Muslim organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of the Senegalese people within in the U.S. and offer various support services, including education training, employment, professional development and financial support for small businesses.

A native of Senegal, West Africa, Mr. Niang originally earned a degree in law at the University of Dakar in 1999 before his relocation to the U.S. Upon his arrival, he quickly discovered the many struggles of his immigrant relatives and decided to pursue additional studies. In 2016, he graduated with a law degree at Touro College in New York and began specializing in immigration law. Additionally, Mr. Niang has been admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Wisconsin, and has been certified in litigation specialty assistance since 2002, in financial risk management since 2004 and in alternative dispute resolution since 2010.

Aligned with several industry-related organizations relative to his legal career, Mr. Niang is an active member of the New York Lawyers Association and the Immigration Lawyers Association. Recognized several times in the past few years for his achievements, he has accepted a Cali Excellence for the Future Award for Civil Procedure Law in 2015 and 2016 as well as an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Touro Law Center in 2016. An advocate for refugees, where he regularly speaks on immigration-related topics on their behalf, he is also noted as an international human rights advocate who invests his time by studying the laws, policies and practices of the U.S. government and writes recommendations for the improvement and protection of such rights. Looking toward the future, Mr. Niang aspires to work on a more international level with various other non-profit programs and international governments.
