Having accrued more than 60 years of excellence in his vocations, Mr. Waterman has garnered a laudable reputation as a banker and musical director. He attended Brooklyn College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1969 and a Master of Arts in English in 1974. In 1984, he completed a Master of Business Administration at New York University. Also qualified as a musician, Mr. Waterman holds certificates in church music from Trinity College and Westminster Conservatory.

Mr. Waterman embarked upon his professional journey with East River Savings Bank in 1964 as a teller, rising to become a supervisor in 1969. In 1973, he was promoted to the position of an assistant manager, and maintained activity as an assistant to the branch administrator from 1974 until 1975. Between 1975 and 1979, Mr. Waterman continued his career as the assistant secretary and manager of the East River Savings Bank, and the assistant vice president from 1979 until his retirement in 1993.

In addition to his work in the financial sector, Mr. Waterman is Director of Music and Organist at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Brooklyn. He has held the same position at the Shrine Church of Saint Gerard Majella and St. Augustine. He considers music to be his first passion, and was inspired by sacred music since childhood. He is the director of the Arlington Choraliers, a group he helped establish in 1958, and was a U.S. Army organist from 1961 to 1963 on active duty. Eager to remain aware of developments in the field of music, Mr. Waterman is a member of the American Guild of Organists.
