Initially beginning her career as a freelance writer and journalist, Ms. Rodrigo is a distinguished figure within the Latin music industry whose background consists of experience in radio, television production and record labels. Since 2016, she has been active as the founder and chief executive officer of The Music Joint Group in Los Angeles, California, with teams based in Mexico and Colombia and with which she represents several Latin alternative artists, and promotes music festivals, national tours and stadium concerts.
Ms. Rodrigo is considered a pioneer in the promotion of the Latin alternative music genre and has served several other record labels in myriad capacities. A former senior label manager of Capitol Latin from 2010 to 2011 and Universal Music Group from 1999 to 2007, she found success as one of the founders and A&R and marketing director of the first Latin rock record label signing U.S. bands, Aztlan Records between 1996 and 1998 as well as a creative services director for KMSG-59 Telemundo from 1994 to 1995. Beginning her career as a freelance writer in 1989, Ms. Rodrigo worked as the owner of Producciones Anónimas, and both the creative services director, news anchor for the Radio Bilingüe Network from 1991 to 1993, where she found and produced the first Latin Rock show in the Country, which is still on air 29 years later.
Backed by academic studies in communication science from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo, Ms. Rodrigo is proudest of the development of the artists with whom she works, noting that she has been by their side since the inception of their musical careers. She is also proud of the festivals with which she has been affiliated. Throughout her career, she has worked with artists such as Panteón Rococó, Alejandra Guzmán, Aterciopelados, Julieta Venegas, Bebe, La Ley, Enanitos Verdes, Bunbury, Fito Páez, Zoé, Café Tacvba, to name a few, as well as working on major events such as the return of Soda Stereo, Heroes del Silencio concerts and El Tri's 40th anniversary Arena Tour, along with many festivals such as Ruido Fest, La Tocada, Skanking Reggae, Sounds of Uruguay (SXSW), Uateke and Los Dells Festival, among others. Furthermore, Ms. Rodrigo has collaborated with a number of corporate clients, including Goldenvoice, AEG Live Seitrack, Smithonian Folkways and Live Nation, along with almost every major record label and some of the most prominent indie labels.
Attributing her success to her passion for her career, Ms. Rodrigo still holds much excitement and enthusiasm working with talented artists. Alongside her career endeavors, she is a frequent volunteer and helps with public relations and marketing for charity events.
