In pursuing a formal education, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1998. Notably taking one year's coursework as a visiting student at the University of Notre Dame School of Law, Ms. Barnhart earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2002.
Demonstrating impressive professional focus, Ms. Barnhart initially launched her career as an attorney at Marcus, Santoro and Kozak, PLC, where she worked between 2004 and 2009. She proceeded to serve as an associate attorney with Roussos, Lassiter, Glanzer & Marcus, PLC, from 2009 to 2011, achieving membership status in the firm in 2011. She is currently a partner with the successor to that firm, Roussos & Barnhart, PLC. For her passion for and dedication to the practice of law, she was recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2010 to 2012 and as a Super Lawyer from 2013 to the present. Ms. Barnhart was also named to Virginia's Elite as an expert in bankruptcy and creditor's rights from 2015 to 2019. She is a frequent presenter and speaker at continuing legal education programs locally, statewide and regionally.
Ms. Barnhart attributes her success to her capacity for hard work, complemented by her recognized skills and talent for financial workouts and corporate bankruptcy.
