BETTENDORF, IOWA, April 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present James E. Johnson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, James E. Johnson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued more than 40 years of inimitable expertise as an engineer, Mr. Johnson garnered a laudable reputation as a city engineer on behalf of the city of Rock Island, Illinois between 1985 and 2011, upon which he retired. After working at Boeing, an engineering firm, and the city of Bettendorf, he subsequently became a licensed professional engineer and worked for several other firms. Mr. Johnson also served as a consultant in his field following his retirement.

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Johnson pursued a formal education at Iowa State University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1969. Mr. Johnson initially became involved with his profession due to a fascination with seeing an idea transferred to a set of plans and then ultimately being constructed.

Today, in order to remain aware of developments in the field of engineering, Mr. Johnson maintained his professional affiliation with various organizations pertinent to his interests. To wit, he was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Knights of Columbus, the National Society of Professional engineers, the American Public Works Association, and the American Water Works Association. A devout adherent of his Roman Catholic faith, Mr. Johnson has been married to his wife, Susanne, since 1968, alongside whom he is the proud parent of his son, Christopher, and two grandchildren.
