LADY LAKE, FL, April 17, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard Fontanez-Aldea has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Certified as a wound-care specialist and diving medical physician, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea has excelled as the medical director at Curelogics Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center in Lady Lake, FL, since 2007. Raised in a marine environment, he decided early in his life to pursue a career in marine biology. Now active in his field for more than 10 years, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea aims to become a director of larger centers while acquiring more personnel and available technology in the years to come.

After initially earning a Bachelor of Arts in coastal marine biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea continued his studies with a Master of Science in maritime history and underwater archaeology from East Carolina University. Opting for the route of international education, he obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2006. Subsequently, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in diving medicine from Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

Furthermore, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea is a proud member of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, the Puerto Rico Medical Board, the American Academy of Underwater Science and the International Association for Caribbean Archeology. For his inimitable and notable service in hid field in the United States and abroad, he was the recipient of the Puerto Rico National Guard Merit Cross, presented to him by the Governor of Puerto Rico. He attributes his success to hard work, tenacity and the support of his wonderful family. Looking toward the future, Mr. Fontanez-Aldea hopes to collaborate with a large number of diving committees between the United States and Puerto Rico, as there are many improvements to be made to further prevent a large number of diving accidents.
