Leveraging over 55 years of experience as an attorney, Mr. Harris specialized in housing and urban development, real estate and finance, business transition, as well as family business and estate planning. Joining the Stolar Partnership and predecessors in 1961, a local law firm in Saint Louis which remained in business for more than 50 years, he later retired as a partner and emeritus chairman in 2014. Mr. Harris subsequently contributed for an additional five years in private practice until 2019. During that time, he was counsel for such notable Saint Louis redevelopment projects as Skinker DeBaliviere, Convention Plaza, Washington Avenue, Gateway Mall and Grand Center.

Renowned for his work in urban redevelopment, Mr. Harris was honored to have been selected by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to serve as special counsel for HUD's Operation Breakthrough program, a national program created to stimulate volume production of housing for all income levels, as well as responsibility for drafting the regulations that became the Department's second mortgage program. In 2008, Mr. Harris co-authored a book titled "Tax Credits and Economic Incentives for Business Development in Missouri" with Tom George, Chancellor of University of Missouri St Louis. He subsequently served as general counsel for the creation of CORTEX, the biotech partnership he named, among three universities and other major non-profit organizations in St. Louis that has resulted in the now flourishing and nationally recognized CORTEX district in St. Louis.

A community leader who has provided his time and expertise with various organizations, Mr. Harris is most notably a former Board Chair of the Bi-State Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro), the Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing, and the Saint Louis Chapter of the American Red Cross, for which he also served as chair of the national rules committee responsible for the admission to the international organization of the Magen David Adorn, the Israeli Red Cross. He is also an emeritus board member of Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, a former Commissioner of the St. Louis Science Center and a former board member of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Magic House and Grand Center Association. He is a past president and board member of the St. Louis Jewish Federation, for which he also served as counsel for over 35 years.

An alumnus of Harvard University, Mr. Harris acquired a Bachelor of Arts in 1958, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with magna cum laude honors in economics. He subsequently graduated from Harvard Law School in 1961 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence and was admitted to practice by the Missouri Bar, the District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

As a practicing attorney, Mr. Harris maintained his involvement with the American Bar Association, the Saint Louis Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association. He also has remained active in the Harvard Club of Saint Louis where he served as a vice president and hosted in his home the annual Harvard holiday party for 40 consecutive years. Mr. Harris has also served as President and a board member of Westwood Country Club in Saint Louis. In addition to his legal career. Mr. Harris was a founding partner in Fox Associates. which restored the renowned 5.000 seat Fabulous Fox Theatre in Saint Louis, and went on to the production of many award-wining Broadway plays, including Thoroughly Modem Millie which received one of the three Tony Awards he proudly displays at home.

Named to the Clayton High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 2018, other notable awards to Mr. Harris' credit include a Community Service Award from the Saint Louis Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, a President's Award from the Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing and a Clara Barton Award from the Saint Louis chapter of the American Red Cross. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been featured in Who's Who in America. Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Harris enjoys such avocations as photography, playing golf, and wine collecting
