Dr. Sushmita Ghosh's work has been published in scientific books and leading scientific journals.
TIFFIN, OH, April 23, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Sushmita Ghosh has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing upon more than three decades of practiced experience in scientific education, Dr. Ghosh serves as Professor of Science with Tiffin University. Since accepting her position with the aforementioned university in 2008, she was highly instrumental in developing the science program, has taught lectures and laboratories in biological and natural sciences, developed and upgraded curriculum, and helped enhance the general education program. Additionally, Dr. Ghosh has contributed to the development of a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, written numerous grants while in research, advised students, directed student research and conducted workshops for prospective undergraduate students to help with recruitment. She was appointed by The Ohio Academy of Science as reviewer to Science and Mathematics Education Standards Review Team, STEM-TAC. Dr. Ghosh has reviewed textbooks in biology and genetics. Her work has been published in scientific books and leading scientific journals.
Prior to her present post, Dr. Ghosh gained valuable expertise in the field as Research Fellow, University Grants Commission of India, Research Associate at University of Illinois following her Ph.D. and at the Tulane Medical Center, where she excelled. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, in addition to scientific papers in the top journals, she has provided her wealth of knowledge to various articles in scientific education. These include, "Curriculum Design: Cutting-Edge Collegiate Curriculum for Preparing Competitive Graduates" and "Curricular Improvements in Biology: Inclusions for Advancement," which were both featured in the American Journal of Health Sciences, and "Current Areas to Be Stressed Upon in Biology: Essentials for an Effective Curriculum" and "Thyroid Supplementation in Patients with Heart Failure." Devoted to her community, Dr. Ghosh contributes to schools for underprivileged children, which were established by her father and mother. Dr. Ghosh has performed Indian Classical dance and her stage performances were highly commended in media reviews and telecast internationally.
An acclaimed industry professional, Dr. Ghosh earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) and a Master of Science from Calcutta University, as well as a Master of Environmental Science from Baylor University with the Mortar Board Award and a Doctor of Philosophy in physiology with Dissertation Research Award fellowship from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. In honor of her outstanding accomplishments, she was appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign in 1992. Additionally, she was presented with the Dupont Scholar Award from Baylor University, and the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman Award in the House of Lords in the United Kingdom in 2017 by NRI Welfare Society. Looking toward the future, Dr. Ghosh intends to complete and publish a book she is currently writing on the topic of water.
