Dr. Morgan is renowned as a minister and psychoanalysis/psychologist with more than 44 years of excellence in his field. He initially pursued an education at Pittsburg State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1971 and a Master of Science in 1976. He subsequently completed doctoral coursework at the University of Kansas from 1976 to 1978 before graduating with a Doctor of Psychology at Western Colorado University in 1978. He also completed psychiatric medications coursework at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in 1977. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology. Dr. Morgan is ordained to ministry in the International Ministerial Fellowship.
From 1976 to 1980, Dr. Morgan began his career as the owner and chief psychologist for Professional Psychological Services in Kansas City, Missouri. He subsequently served as a chief psychologist for Sierra Vista Psychiatric Hospital from 1980 to 1981 and as a psych assistant at the Long Beach Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital from 1981 to 1983. From 1983 to 1984, Dr. Morgan flourished as the chief psychologist at the HSA Heartland Hospital prior to establishing the Christian Psychiatric Associates of Los Angeles in 1985. While at Heartland, he was brought in from California to acquire JCAH accreditation for the hospital.
From 1989 to 1991, Dr. Morgan was active as the founder and senior pastor at Heartland Community Church, Inc. in Kansas City. Since 2000, he has excelled as the owner of Psychanalysis, P.C. The author of "Manage Your Stress Before it Manages You" in 1983, he has been notably honored by the State Psychiatric Association for 35 years of practice. A lifetime member of the National Psychiatric Association and the New York Academy of Sciences, Dr. Morgan has served on the board of directors of the American Board of Psychotherapy in 1982.
In the military some of his reserves were at the Department of Psychiatry at Letterman Army Hospital at The Presidio in San Francisco, CA. When he lived in California, his ministerial duties on weekends involved assisting Dr. Robert Shuller Jr. start his church at San Juan Capistrano, California. Also, Dr. Morgan counseled at New Hope at the Crystal Cathedral and taught classes at the lay minister's training center for several years at the Garden Grove, CA campus.
