Mr. Sefton is a retired telecommunications executive with over 40 years of excellence in his industry. He initially pursued an education at Millikin University, graduating in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in engineering administration. From 1954 to 1956, he served his country as a member of the United States Army. Mr. Sefton concluded his academic efforts in 1965 with a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University.

Between 1956 and 1963, Mr. Sefton began his career with the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a commercial supervisor, a sales manager and a marketing manager. He found further success at the aforementioned company as the district commercial manager from 1963 to 1966 and the district public telephone manager from 1966 to 1969. Mr. Sefton was additionally active with the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as the district treasury manager from 1969 to 1975 and a regulatory manager from 1975 to 1983, at which point he accepted the position of the manager of revenue requirements at Ameritech Services, Inc.

Mr. Sefton was appointed as the executive director of revenue requirements for Ameritech Services, Inc. in 1990, and flourished with the company until his retirement in 1992. From 1991 to 1993, he maintained a business consulting private practice based out of Evanston. Moreover, Mr. Sefton is a former member of the board of the Public Utilities Securities Club of Chicago, the Center for Ethics and Corporate Policy, and the Chicago Christian Industrial League.
