Dr. Feld is a retired pathologist who practiced medicine in Florida for more than 30 years at the Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City and the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills in Zephyrhills. During 1991, he also served as the secretary and treasurer of the East Pasco Medical Center medical staff in Zephyrhills.
Outside of his full-time commitments, Dr. Feld has given much time to charity work with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, serving as a trustee and treasurer of the Suncoast chapter from 1995 to 2002. Furthermore, Dr. Feld is a trustee for the Jewish Community Relations Council and past chair of the medical advisory committee for the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa (1998-2000).
An alumnus of the University of Florida, Dr. Feld received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1971 and was enrolled in the Masters of Science education program until 1973. He later earned a Doctor of Medicine at the University of the East in the Philippines in 1977, before going on to complete a clinical clerkship at Long Island College Hospital in New York City in 1978 and a residency in pathology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City between 1978 and 1982. Dr. Feld received his medical license in Florida in 1980 and became board certified by the American Board of Pathology in 1985. Dr. Feld previously spent a year as a fellow in cytopathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston between 1982 and 1983.
Dr. Feld has also conducted research (utilizing the application of flow cytometry analytical methods) during his Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also contributed two articles to the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine, with one article receiving the Ralph Colp Award for Journalistic Excellence.
A former member of board of trustees for the Jewish Benevolent Society of Greater Tampa, Dr. Feld also previously served on the advisory board of the Center for Catholic Jewish Studies at Saint Leo University and the advisory council for the Jewish Museum of Florida. He is currently active on the House of Delegates for both the Florida Medical Association and the College of American Pathologists since 2014 and was a member-at-large of the Florida Society of Pathology from 2017 to 2019. Named Brooks Brothers Man of the Year by the Suncoast chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 1995, Dr. Feld has also been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
