SAVANNA, IL, May 07, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Pamela E. Delp with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Delp celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having retired from a long and successful career in education, Ms. Delp began her career as a special education resource teacher in 1980 at Savanna High School, where she remained for 20 years. During this time, she transitioned into the role of an internal facilitator district learning leadership team member. Continually progressing throughout her career, Ms. Delp became the dean of students at Chestnut Park School and, subsequently, the principal of Savanna High School and the West Carroll Intermediate School. Ultimately, she served as the director and building principal of the Carroll County Early Steps Preschool Program, the Right Steps Birth to Three Parents as Teachers Program, between 2010 and 2013.

A community leader for many years, Ms. Delp has led initiatives as the treasurer of the Savanna Township Cemetery Board from 1988 to 1993, as the chairperson of the Saint Jude Children's Hospital bike-a-thon between 1989 and 1993 and as the president of the Aid Association for Lutherans in Savanna from 1994 until 1997. She is currently the president of the Mercy One auxiliary board in Clinton, Iowa, and a volunteer with CASA, an organization that supports and promotes court-appointed advocates for abused or neglected children. Additionally, Ms. Delp remains active through her local church in various capacities as a parishioner.

Ms. Delp attended Highland Community College, where she attained an Associate of Science in 1977. Shortly thereafter, she received a Bachelor of Science at Illinois State University in 1980, followed by a Master of Science in education administration at Western Illinois University in 1998. Deciding to pursue a career in special education, Ms. Delp noted, was the result of the experience she had while mentoring a Vietnamese refugee in 1976, who faced a language barrier and a lack of respect from their peers.

To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Ms. Delp has been actively engaged with several significant professional organizations, including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Illinois Council for Exceptional Children, and the Illinois Principal's Association. She is also a member, past president and former negotiator of the Savanna Education Association. In more recent years, she joined the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Delp has been featured in the fifth edition of Who's Who in American Education.
