Mary Lou Ederer Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Educational Administration

Ms. Ederer worked in education for 40 years before her retirement in 2000

    SAGINAW, MI, May 08, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Lou Ederer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After accruing 40 years of experience in educational administration, Ms. Ederer retired from Swan Valley Schools, where she had served as the principal of Havens School from 1971 until 2000 and the director of Scooby Doo Preschool from 1983 until 2000. She further flourished in the aforementioned school district as a reading teacher, a title one coordinator and a consultant between the late 1960s and early 1970s. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a teacher for Shields Elementary School. Over the years, Ms. Ederer has also utilized her expertise as a member of the humanities committee for the Saginaw Valley Lecture Series.

A certified elementary teacher and administrative professional, Ms. Ederer earned an Associate of Arts from Bay City Junior College in 1960 and a Bachelor of Arts from Central Michigan University in 1963. She continued her studies at Michigan State University, obtaining a Master of Arts in 1966 and an Education Specialist in 1971. Before her retirement, Ms. Ederer had maintained her professional alignment with the Michigan Reading Association, the International Reading Association, the Saginaw Area Reading Council, the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Michigan Education Association, the National Education Association and the Michigan Elementary-Middle Schools Principals Association.

Dedicated to her community, Ms. Ederer contributes to those in need as a coordinator for the READ Association After School Program and the chairman of the Saginaw Valley Humanities Lecture Committee. For her outstanding work in education, she was presented with a Service Award from Shields Elementary School in 1967, a Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award, the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and features in Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the Midwest. Looking ahead, Ms. Ederer intends to continue enjoying her retirement and supporting her community.
