ANGWIN, CA, May 18, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- L. Jean Sheldon, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Inspired by her parents, both educators in their own right, Dr. Sheldon was likewise encouraged to pursue a career in the field. However, her desire to teach theology was innate. After working as a religious instructor for Hong Kong Adventist College in China from 1984 until 1987, she gained valuable industry experience as a graduate analyst for Pacific Union College. Thereafter, she taught religion at Pacific Union College between 1995 and 2005. Ever since, Dr. Sheldon has worked as an Old Testament professor for the University and as an ordained minister for Seventh Day Adventist Church.
An expert in her field, Dr. Sheldon earned a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Anderson University in 1982. She subsequently received a Master of Arts in New Testament Biblical studies from Loma Linda University in 1984 and a Doctor of Philosophy in ancient near-eastern religions from the University of California Berkeley in 2002. Devoted to her community, Dr. Sheldon contributes as the president of the Adventist Society for Religious Studies, where she began in 2005.
Throughout her career, Dr. Sheldon has authored a number of religious works, including "Servant God The Cosmic Conflict of God's Trustworthiness," "No Longer Naked and Ashamed: Discovering That God Is Not an Abuser," "Chasing Heaven to Avoid Hell: Is Christianity Just Fire Insurance?" "And God Cried Out: Why This Suffering?" "Images and Power and a Kingdom of Priests," Andrews University Seminary Studies 52 (2014): 161-172 and "Sharing Jesus." All but the latter are available in paperback and e-book format. However, "Sharing Jesus" is only available in paperback format. Looking toward the future, Dr. Sheldon intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
