Jennifer M. Porter ("JP") Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Porter has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of Audio Visual and Live Event Production/Management

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, May 19, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jennifer M. Porter ("JP") with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Porter celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Porter has accrued 35 years of inimitable expertise in the field of Audio Visual Production as well as Corporate and Live event management services overseeing overall execution including pre-production planning, budget management, site selection, creative design, staging, stage management, talent management, content design (including video, digital, satellite broadcasts, animations, presentation graphics, still photography, virtual events, etc), crew selection & management, venue relations, and local authority compliance.

Ms. Porter has garnered a laudable reputation as a talented and award-winning Executive Producer, Producer, Director, Stage Manager, Documentarian and published still photographer. She established her business, Shoot the Moon Productions Inc®., as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Producer in 1993. Headquartered in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis & St. Paul, it is a full-service AV production company, but with a specialty in all aspects of live corporate meetings & events staged throughout the world.

Ms. Porter comes from a long line of artists, creatives, and mechanical problem-solvers. She had her own "aha" moment at the age of 15 when viewing a 30-projector wide screen multi-image slide show for the National Tour of King Tut in Chicago in 1977. Experiencing the blended aspects of the technology and production of Audio, Visual and Storytelling resonated with the young JP, and inspired her to pursue all things AV in college and beyond. This included multi-image production, still photography, graphic design, printing, audio engineering, radio (production and on-air), video editing, television (production and on-air), as well as DJ-ing. Ms. Porter attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Bowling Green State University. Graduating in 1984 with a double major in Radio-TV-Film Production and Visual Communications Technology.

JP has always been a go-getter and her first job post-college, was as the Audio Visual Supervisor for Liberty Mutual Insurance's Middle Atlantic territory covering 5 states (1985-1988). Her job responsibilities included photography (shooting, processing, printing) slide design, multi-image production, video shooting and editing, audio engineering, graphic design, and staging for meetings. It is noted that at 23, she was the only person in the region doing all of these tasks for the company.

Finding success and wanting further growth, Ms. Porter then accepted a position in Minneapolis as Sr. Producer with Prudential Insurance (North Central Region) from 1988-1993. As a part of a much larger team, with much larger projects and productions, this was the position that fueled her trajectory to becoming established in the Twin Cities and ultimately set the stage to launch her own company, Shoot the Moon Productions, Inc® in 1993.

Primed with 10 years of all-encompassing corporate in-house production experience, the timing was right to begin her journey as a business owner. Now with over 30 years' experience, Shoot the Moon Productions, Inc® has established itself as a go-to for all things related to audio visual production and live event services for clients around the world.

JP describes herself as a project-juggler, and a multi-tasker. As someone who has deep experience in both the technical and the production-management side of things, she is often brought to the table because of this combination of skills. Having been immersed in every production role along the way in her career, this has given her the unique ability to lead with calm empathy and understanding of the team. The production business is ever-changing…deadlines, client expectations, last-minute changes, budget constraints, professional and unprofessional talent, large and small crews, technical challenges, unforeseen difficulties...it's all part of the skillset that Ms. Porter has honed and perfected over these 30 years. She says that her Depression-era parents taught her how to get 11 cents out of a dime, and that has been a driving force in being on-time and on-budget when managing other people's money!

Ms. Porter has worked on countless high-profile projects with Fortune 500 Companies. Some of which have included working on projects for 3M, Wells Fargo, General Mills, Target, Best Buy, Proctor & Gamble, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Cargill, The Clinton Foundation, Ladenburg Thalmann, United Health Group, and the NCAA among many others.

Outside of her full-time commitments at Shoot the Moon Productions Inc.®, Ms. Porter has been a licensed Realtor® in the state of Minnesota since 2004. She has served in a leadership position as a member of the Board of Directors for Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago, WI (2006-2012). Early in her career she was a member of the Association for Multi-Image Int'l (1985-1994), eventually serving on the local Twin Cities board, and participating in the International Festival and Conference as an entrant, crew member, and judge. Ms. Porter is also a member (and legacy) of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She served as an international officer, public relations speaker and producer. Recognized with several industry awards, Ms. Porter has been published internationally for her work. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been included in 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
