An accomplished listee, Mr. Mahanti celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Mahanti is a retired nurse and U.S. Army officer who spent the first two decades of his career in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1978, he advanced to a lieutenant colonel during his service, where he notably held several significant roles while stationed throughout California, Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland and overseas in Germany. He later earned a Master of Science at the University of San Francisco in 1981 and a Master of Science in Nursing at Indiana University in 1986.
