With extensive real estate and title insurance experience to his credit, Mr. Phillips serves as the chief executive officer of Attorneys Title Guaranty Fund Inc. Mr. Phillips also teaches many continuing education classes to other title insurance professionals, as well as real estate professionals. Prior to his current role, he worked as general counsel for the aforementioned company, where his experience with land use disputes, title claims, land acquisitions and development helped him oversee the underwriting and claims process for the company. Mr. Phillips also served as the vice president and senior claims counsel for a national title insurance company from 2015 until 2017.
During the early years of his career, Mr. Phillips litigated real estate disputes in Colorado and Texas. Although his professional career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Phillips is especially proud of the balance between his personal and professional lives that he has maintained over the years, as well as his wonderful wife and three children.
In pursuit of his legal aspirations, Mr. Phillips earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2003. Subsequently, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law before becoming licensed to practice law in both Colorado and Texas. Dedicated to his community, he contributes to those in need as a committee member with the American Land Title Association and as a member of the board of directors for the Land Title Association of Colorado. Due to his outstanding body of work, he was honored with the National Merit Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. Phillips aims to find further success with Attorneys the Title Guaranty Fund.
