    BOULDER, CO, May 29, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Klara Margarete Ursula Barbara Schroth Cox-Bixby with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Cox-Bixby celebrates many years' experience in her professional artwork, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Raised in war-torn Europe, Barbara was encouraged to seek a career in the arts by her parents, who had lost everything in World War II, but noticed her drawings and fostered her creative talents by the age 12. She decided to pursue a formal education at the Gewerbeschule in Innsbruck, Austria, completing coursework in sculptural studies in 1957. Subsequently, Barbara continued her academic efforts with coursework at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, from 1960 to 1963. She married Ronald A. Cox and relocated to the United States.

Soon thereafter, Barbara dedicated her time and attention to her family before beginning her career in art education as an instructor at the Boulder Community Free School in Colorado in 1971. From 1972 to 1973, she worked as an instructor for children's classes at the Boulder Fine Arts Center. During this time, Barbara decided to refine her skills, obtaining her professional certification as a teacher of art education in the Boulder Valley School District in 1974.

In the years that followed, Barbara found success in a number of capacities for the Arts and Crafts Center in the University Memorial Center at the University of Colorado Boulder between 1974 and 1985, including as the director, instructor and coordinator. Moreover, she earned a grant from the training management program for arts and crafts for the Western Art Foundation in 1976. Though she fondly recalls her professional ventures at this time, Barbara is incredibly proud to have exhibited her art at a sculpture show at the University Memorial Center Gallery in Boulder, Colorado.

Since 1985, Barbara has excelled as an instructor of art and drawing at the North Boulder Recreation Center in Colorado. She had been additionally active as an instructor of stone sculpture and woodcarving in the continuing education division at the University of Colorado Boulder from 1985 to 2002. Furthermore, Barbara has been affiliated with a variety of organizations in relation to her areas of interest, including the Denver Art Museum, Open Studios in Boulder, the Colorado Mountain Club and the Flatirons Ski Club.

However, though she had flourished in education, Barbara became greatly inspired by the teachings of Dr. Charles Bebeau, the founder of Jungian archetypal psychology, who decided to mentor her. Dr. Bebeau helped her develop her individual psyche and personality. She returned to academia, graduating from the Avalon Institute in Boulder. CO with a Master of Arts in art therapy and Jungian psychotherapy in 1991. Notably, Barbara cites her encounter with an angel in her sleep during her graduate studies, which she believed to be the manifestation of her intensive reading list of works dealing with fairy tales and legends, as the highlight of her career.

A regularly featured artist on www.artistsreg.com, Barbara has displayed her artwork at a number of lauded venues and showcases, including the Hudson Gardens Sixth Garden Sculpture Show in 2001, the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in 2003, the China Cultural Center in Beijing in 2005, "Art on the Edge" for the Lakewood Arts Council in 2006 and the University of Colorado Visual Arts Complex in 2007, among others. As a result of her exemplary artistic undertakings, she has been presented with many prestigious accolades in her field, including an International Art Award by the aforementioned China Cultural Center in Beijing in 2005, the Merit Award from the Lakewood Arts Council in 2006 and the Merit Award from the Art Association Show in Louisville, Colorado, in 2008. Likewise, Barbara has been selected for inclusion in the 60th edition of Who's Who in America and multiple volumes of Who's Who of American Women. She married Richard Bixby in 2011.

An advocate for utilizing art as a creative method of healing and development within human beings, Barbara is perpetually motivated by her ability to teach and share her experiences with others in order to instill confidence, positivity and knowledge in herself and others through the freedom of expression. On a personal note, she feels incredibly blessed to share her life with her two artistic children, aher daughter, Jennifer, has become an accomplished cellist, her son, Roger, has garnered much acclaim over a 30 year career in the visual arts. Looking toward the future, Barbara hopes to continue utilizing the positive energy of creativity through her artwork while cementing her legacy as a generally cheerful figure in art education.
