At a young age, Yolanda R. Duncan decided that she wanted to become a doctor. Growing up with a mother who had a chronic illness, she helped care for her mother during her flare ups and her cancer until her death. Dr. Duncan's father was a biology professor. He helped to instill in her a love of science. Due to her parents influence, she chose to pursue a career in medicine.
Dr. Duncan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry in four years from John Carroll University. She was then awarded a full tuition scholarship to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree. After receiving her medical degree, Dr. Duncan completed a residency in Family Practice at Summa Health Systems.
Dr. Duncan currently excels as a Family Practitioner for University Hospitals, a medical director for CVS Minute Clinic and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Throughout her career, she has attributed her professional success to her faith, as well as the support of her parents and family.
