ROCK CITY FALLS, NY, June 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sharon Blakemore-Kingsbury has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury is renowned as a visual arts educator and celebrated sculptor with more than 45 years of excellence in her discipline. She initially pursued an education at Ohio University, obtaining an undergraduate degree in art history in 1970 and a Master of Arts in secondary education in 1974. Fascinated by sculpture since high school, Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury enrolled in ceramics sculpture classes during her graduate studies and fell in love with the medium.
Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury began her career as an art teacher for several years before a vehicle accident left her with a head injury that forced her to refocus her professional aspirations. She returned to her passion, sculpture, and has flourished with her company, Share Sculpture & Company, since her rehabilitation. Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury hopes that her legacy is lasting, and notes that she is not in search of recognition now, but "in 1000 years, when someone digs it up."
Looking toward the future, Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury hopes to continue finding success through her artistic practice. She considers her greatest work to have been an installation of small glass houses, and would like to pursue more pieces in this vein. Beyond her primary responsibilities in the field, Ms. Blakemore-Kingsbury is an active volunteer at the Saratoga Springs Senior Center and the Saratoga County Arts Center
