Dr. Telfer channels her personal experiences and professional research into her work with BMJ Consulting Services

Forever curious and inspired by her environment, Dr. Josephine Telfer explores the concept of transcendence in her work.

ALBERT PARK, AUSTRALIA, June 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Josephine Telfer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Growing up on Kangaroo Island in Australia, Dr. Telfer quickly developed a love of the natural world around her, which fostered her creativity. After her family moved to the mainland, she experienced a creative block that motivated her to research the science behind creativity. Due to her extensive research and personal experiences, Dr. Telfer excels today as a consultant for BMJ Consulting Services, a position in which she parlays her hard-earned knowledge to others in need so that they might also combat creative blocks.

Forever curious and inspired by her environment, Dr. Telfer explores the concept of transcendence in her work, utilizing footage and photographs taken in the natural world to create an imagined reality. Represented in the Stephen McLaughlin Gallery, she has been spotlighted in solo exhibitions for "Veiled Moon," "Billabong," "Eclipse," "Nine Waves," "Still" and "Reflect." Additionally, Dr. Telfer has participated in group exhibitions around the world in various galleries, including Artegrio Gallery in Montefiascone, Italy, the University of Melbourne's Melba Hall, the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Noosa Regional Gallery, Gasworks Art Park and S.H. Erving Gallery.

An expert in her field, Dr. Telfer initially obtained a Master of Fine Arts through Monash University in 2004 before earning a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne in 2011. As a result of her extensive research interviewing 50 artists and her own experience in experiencing and overcoming creative block, she authored a book from which others could learn that she hopes will be published soon. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, she has already contributed to such publications as "Moving Images," which was featured at the National Library of Australia and the State Library of Victoria, and the "Dialogues and Differences Symposium" at The University of Melbourne. Looking toward the future, Dr. Telfer aims to continue writing and creating while continuing to collect data in order to study the regrowth after the Australian fires, which she will incorporate into her work.
