DELAWARE, OH, June 05, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ruchelle L. Pride has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. From a young age, Ms. Pride had a desire to become a voice and a mentor for struggling young people. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in homeland security and emergency management from Franklin University, she decided to accept a job at a local juvenile detention center. From the beginning, she was able to form a meaningful connection with the children and believed that she had chosen the right career. She currently excels as an assessment center supervisor for the Delaware County Juvenile Court and an executive board member of the Second Ward Community Initiative, a non-profit organization serving intergenerational families within the Delaware community. With a passion for community and local government. Ms. Pride hopes to establish an effective, structured and leading continuum in public service while fostering positive change.
Ms. Pride has been additionally involved with the Delaware County Assessment Center since its establishment in 2019. Her team has notably worked hard to develop and operate a program to service the needs of at-risk youth and families without the criminalization of formal court involvement. As a supervisor specializing in child advocacy and juvenile justice, Ms. Pride, along with her staff, ensures that the center succeeds in proactively diverting at-risk youth while providing intervention support and preventing out-of-home placement due to family instability.
For her continued effort in her field, Ms. Pride was presented with the Appreciation of Service Award by the Franklin County management and staff and was the 2016 recipient of the Franklin County Juvenile Court Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiatives Award. She has attributed her professional successes to her faith and her dedication to helping young people thrive in all areas of life. Throughout her career, she has been most grateful for a particular relationship that she built with a young man. She mentored him for three years but he unfortunately lost his life to gun violence, which affected her very much. Ms. Pride has decided to allow his legacy to rest in power and serve as an ongoing force behind her efforts to bridge the gap in building relationships with those who need it most.
In order to remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Pride maintains her professional affiliation with the National Associations of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ). In May 2020, she was voted Board President of the Second Ward Community Initiative. In addition to her work in juvenile justice, she is also active as an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Her business philosophy is centered around enriching women's lives by promoting self-care and opportunities for entrepreneurship. In the coming years, she plans to continue flourishing in a leadership position. Ms. Pride wants to continue to grow and develop as a leader so she can reach people and affect the most change. She is a current graduate student at the International Institute for Restorative Practices.
