Mr. Davis is renowned as a landscape architect with more than 25 years of specialization in golf course architecture. Passionate about golf, he recalls his parents saving money and sacrificing to allow him to join a golf club designed by noted architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. Initially, Mr. Davis' interest in golf course architecture began as a way to play better and understand the game at a deeper level, but quickly bloomed into a genuine career aspiration.
Mr. Davis initially pursued an education at the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Arts in marketing in 1990 and a Master of Arts in landscape architecture in 1994. He flourished in a professional golf career from 1990 to 1991 before retiring to focus solely on golf course architecture. Since 1994, he has excelled as the principal at Tripp Davis and Associates. Mr. Davis's portfolio includes renovations to the Oaktree National Golf Club, which resulted in a rank of #51 in the Top 100 golf courses in the United States, and the Northwood Club, for which he was presented with a 2019 International Private Club Renovation of the Year Award.
In addition to his work in architecture, Mr. Davis enjoyed a secondary career in amateur golf from 2000 to 2004. He has competed in 15 USGA Championships, medaling at the 2003 MidAm and reaching the quarterfinals in the 2005 and 2009 MidAms. A member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, Mr. Davis credits his professional success to his exceptional work ethic and the drive to consistently work hard every day with no exceptions.
