Immigrating to the United States at the age of 17, Ms. Martínez experienced the struggles of acclimating to a new country. Adjusting to new culture firsthand, she was subsequently inspired to help others in her situation. She later obtained a Bachelor of Science in science from Mercy College and a Master of Science in education from Long Island University before establishing GladXecutive. Through this program, Ms. Martínez is able to have a positive impact on the youth in a similar situation as she was when she first arrived in the country.

As an accomplished educational professional, Ms. Martínez was recognized among Outstanding American Teachers in 2006. She was also presented with the Latino Unidos Award from Latino Unidos. Throughout her career, she has attributed her success to her daughter and her mother, who have been her strength and inspiration throughout life. In the coming years, Ms. Martínez hopes to take her inventions public while contributing her resources to those in need.
