During the early stages of his career, Dr. Nedeltchev gained valuable experience as a Distinguished Engineer for STS International and as a Member of Technical Staff for Sprint Paranet, where he served as senior technical consulting engineer for Cisco Systems starting in 1999.
Well-regarded as an industry expert in his field today, Dr. Nedeltchev graduated as high school valedictorian and attained the highest college entrance exam scores in his native Bulgaria in 1972. He attained a Master of Science in Computer Science, Summa Cum Laude, from Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University in 1980, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications in 1989. Since his first patent in 1976, he has obtained multiple patents in the United States and overseas and has authored more than 80 publications in the U.S. and abroad. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Nedeltchev is the author of the Cisco Press book for CCIE experts "Troubleshooting Remote Access Networks" dedicated to his wife Tatiana. He has been recognized numerous times for his professional accomplishments, earning Cisco's Pioneer Award for Innovation in Core Technology two times—in 2004 and 2011. He has earned the Distinguished IT Engineer Gold Award for Internet of Things, Distinguished Engineer of the Year for Cisco IT, Cisco's Above and Beyond Award (on three separate occasions), and the IT Champion Award for Cisco Value on Investment, Innovation and Teamwork.
