As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Rifkind is renowned as an actor and a tireless advocate for performing arts professionals as the Scottish branch manager of Equity, the UK entertainment professionals' union. The daughter of an acclaimed English violinist, performing has been second nature to her, who began acting for stage and film as a child. Ms. Rifkind graduated from Eastwood High School in Glasgow before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Ms. Rifkind has been deeply involved in her work with Equity at every possible level, boosting recruitment, attending local and national meetings, and producing numerous high-quality variety shows highlighting the diversity and abundance of Scottish talent.

In addition to her direct work on behalf of Equity, Ms. Rifkind has endowed the Scottish branch with more than £6000 from her personal wealth, making it the best-funded branch in the organization. She attributes her success to her passion for her craft and desire to advance the performing arts in culture, and looks forward to witnessing the next generation of entertainers continue the legacy of her work. Ms. Rifkind has taught acting, dialect, and speech coaching workshops throughout the world, and remains involved in professional organizations including Screen Scotland, the Filmmakers Forum, the Variety Club of Great Britain and Women in the Arts of Scotland.
